Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CheckToSign, a service operated by NaniBoo LLC (“CheckToSign,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, stores, and deletes information when you use the CheckToSign website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Account information: your email address, authentication information used for passwordless sign-in, account settings, Contract Check balance, extra-page balance, and subscription or entitlement status. When you purchase on the website without signing in first, the email you provide in Stripe Checkout may be used to automatically create or link a lightweight CheckToSign account so your purchase can be recovered later.
  • Uploaded documents: PDFs, photographs, scans, and other files you choose to submit for analysis. These documents may contain personal, financial, employment, signature, address, or other information.
  • Saved analysis information: if you are signed in, My Analyses may store the AI-generated analysis together with limited metadata such as the document or file name, document type, page count, analysis language, Attention Score, and date of analysis. The original uploaded contract is not stored in My Analyses.
  • Questions and AI answers: questions you ask during an active document session and the AI-generated responses needed to provide the Ask AI feature.
  • Technical information: device and browser information, IP address, diagnostic or security information, and basic usage data needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
  • Purchase information: transaction identifiers, product or plan information, subscription status, and entitlement information received from Stripe or, when available, Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
  • Communications: information you provide when you contact us for support, privacy, billing, or other inquiries.

2. How Document Processing Works

For web contract analysis, CheckToSign sends the uploaded file server-to-server to OpenAI for AI processing. The web analyzer currently configures uploaded AI files to expire after approximately 24 hours and uses AI requests configured not to store response data for later model-response retrieval. You may also use the in-session delete control to request deletion of the active AI file before that expiration period.

The web analyzer does not intentionally add your original contract to the public WordPress Media Library or save the original file as part of My Analyses. An active document session is temporary and is used to support the analysis, PDF export, and document-grounded Ask AI features for a limited time.

AI-generated output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or based on an incorrect reading of the source document. Always verify important terms against the original document.

3. How We Use Information

We use information as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide document analysis, summaries, Attention Scores, questions to ask, and document-grounded answers;
  • create or link a CheckToSign account from the email provided at website checkout, authenticate returning users through passwordless sign-in, and restore account-linked Contract Checks across browsers or devices;
  • save and display My Analyses when you use that account feature;
  • process or verify purchases, Contract Checks, extra-page packs, and subscriptions;
  • provide customer support and service communications;
  • detect abuse, fraud, security incidents, and technical problems;
  • maintain and improve reliability, usability, and security; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

4. Service Providers and Sharing

We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to service providers and other parties that help us operate the Service, including:

  • OpenAI for AI-assisted document analysis and document-grounded questions;
  • Stripe for website checkout, payment processing, subscription billing, fraud prevention, and transaction verification;
  • hosting, email, security, and infrastructure providers used to operate the website and passwordless sign-in;
  • Apple and Google if app-store purchases are offered through their platforms;
  • professional advisers when reasonably necessary for accounting, security, compliance, or legal matters;
  • authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud; and
  • a successor or transaction party in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell uploaded contract content or use contract content for targeted advertising. Payment-card details are handled by the applicable payment processor rather than stored by CheckToSign.

5. Payments

Website payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe may collect your email address, payment, billing, device, fraud-prevention, and transaction information under its own privacy practices. CheckToSign receives the checkout email together with transaction and entitlement information needed to provide purchased Contract Checks, extra-page packs, subscriptions, and account recovery. We do not receive your full card number.

6. Saved Analyses and Retention

Saved My Analyses remain associated with your account until you delete an individual saved analysis, delete your account, or we delete or de-identify information as part of our retention practices. My Analyses stores the AI-generated analysis and limited metadata, not the original uploaded contract.

Account, purchase, transaction, security, and support records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain entitlements, meet tax or accounting requirements, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with law. Temporary copies and backups may remain for a limited period until overwritten or deleted in the ordinary course.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete individual saved analyses from My Analyses. To request deletion of your CheckToSign account and associated personal data, use the instructions at www.checktosign.com/delete-account/ or contact support@checktosign.com from the email address associated with your account.

We may retain limited information when required or permitted for security, fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, tax, accounting, legal compliance, or dispute resolution. Account deletion does not itself cancel an active Stripe or app-store subscription.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Avoid uploading information that is not necessary for the analysis you want.

9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information about personal data we hold. You can contact info@checktosign.com for privacy requests. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users who are not legally capable of entering into these Terms should use the Service only with appropriate parent or guardian involvement.

11. International Processing

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy and data-protection rights can vary by jurisdiction. We will add region-specific notices or controls when required as we expand availability.

12. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

The website uses cookies or similar technologies needed for login, language preferences, security, payments, and essential functionality. If we enable non-essential analytics or advertising technologies that require notice or consent, we will provide the applicable controls before using them where required.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.
